1. Why does your website show three different prices?
The first price you see is the publisher’s recommended retail price. The second price is the ‘non member’ price: If you order from agreatread.co.uk but opt out of becoming a member of our Christian book club you will pay this price. The third price is the ‘member’ price. This is the price you will pay if you are (or decide to become) a member of A Great Read, Christian book club.


 

2. How do I search for books on this website?
There are two main ways that you can search for books. The easiest is to click on 'Product Search' and tailor your search by, for instance, searching for an exact phrase (perhaps a book title). Perhaps you are looking for material on a certain subject? Try entering the word ‘Baptism’ for example to find items relating to the subject. If you want to find all the books by a certain author, try entering the author’s surname as a keyword into the search page. Another way to browse agreatread.co.uk is to click on one of the categories on the left hand side of the screen. The main product categories are divided into more specific sub-categories - and even sub-sub-categories!


 

3. What is the difference between a ‘non member’ and a ‘member’ on agreatread.co.uk?
A ‘non member’ is a customer who buys from the website without having agreed to become a member of A Great Read, Christian book club. A ‘member’ is a customer who buys from the website having agreed to our Benefits and Conditions of Membership. Please note: Both ‘non members’ and ‘members’ must read and agree with our ‘General Terms and Conditions’.


 

4. I'm new to this website, do I need an account before I buy?
No. If you are a new visitor to the website, simply add the items you want to buy to the basket. When you are finished, go to the checkout. At the checkout you will be asked to supply an email address. Once you’ve completed your order, a confirmation of your order will be sent to you via email. This email will also include your password to the site. Next time you visit, simply log in with your email address and password. Remember to make a note of your password!


 

5. Can I change my password to something more memorable?
Yes. First log in to agreatread.co.uk with your email address and the randomly generated password you received by email when you made your first purchase from the website. Once logged in you will see a link to page which allows you to change your password. We recommend that you choose a password that combines both letters and numbers and is at least 8 characters long. If you have already changed your password once, you can change it again if you so desire.


 

6. I am already a member of your Christian book club, how do I order from agreatread.co.uk?
Simply add the items you want to buy to the basket. When you are finished, go to the checkout. At the checkout you will be asked to supply an email address. Once you’ve completed your order, a confirmation of your order will be sent to you via email. This email will also include your password to the site. Next time you visit, simply log in with your email address and password. Remember to make a note of your password!
You only need to quote your actual membership number if you are ordering by phone, post or fax.


 

7. Can I pay off a balance from a previous 'non website' (i.e. phone, mail etc.) order on the website?
No. The website will only process card payments at the time of ordering. If you do have a previous balance that you want to pay off, please contact customer services on 08453 679 676


 

8. I have ordered from agreatread.co.uk before and you sent me a password via email. Does this mean I am now a member of A Great Read, Christian book club?
Not necessarily. Everyone who orders from agreatread.co.uk gets a password. You only become a member of A Great Read, Christian book club if you have agreed to our Benefits and Conditions of Membership. As a returning customer of agreatread.co.uk you need to log in with your email address and password.


 

9. I have ordered from agreatread.co.uk before but decided to opt out of becoming a member of A Great Read, Christian book club. Can I now decide to become a member?
Yes, when you reach the checkout you will again be given the option to join A Great Read, Christian book club. If you decide to become a member, you will receive the lower ‘member’ prices.


 

10. Does joining your mailing list make me a member of A Great Read, Christian book club?
No. You only become a member if you’ve actually placed an order and also agreed to the Benefits and Conditions of Membership.


 

11. If I want to order multiple copies of a book, can I get a better discount?
Depending on the book, and if you want to order 10 or more copies, we can usually offer a better discount. To find out more specific details please email customerservices@agreatread.co.uk or ring customer services on 08453 679 676 and ask about our ‘Books for Groups’ scheme.


 

12. Can I buy books from you and sell them on to friends?
Yes. Please contact customer services (see above) and ask about becoming a 'Trading Partner' of A Great Read, Christian book club.


 

13. I’ve forgotten my password, can you remind me of it?
Yes, but before contacting us check your first order confirmation email. You should find your password on there. If you’ve lost this record, email us on customerservices@agreatread.co.uk quoting your name, postcode and membership number (if applicable) and we will send you a reminder. Remember, if you was a book club member who was asked to ‘activate’ your web account, your password will be the same as your membership number (unless, at some subsequent point, you changed it).


 

14. Do you keep a record of my previous orders?
Yes. Simply log in to view previous orders placed on agreatread.co.uk. We also keep a record of all your previous orders (whether they were placed on the website, via phone or mail order etc.) on our 'offline' database.


 

15. Do you keep a record of my payment card details?
No. We do not keep any records of payment card details. We use a secure third party card payment system (protx) for all card transactions.
